The Omdurman Islamic University administration has withheld the results of more than 400 Darfuri students under the pretext of non-payment of tuition fees.

The Omdurman Islamic University administration has withheld the results of more than 400 Darfuri students under the pretext of non-payment of tuition fees.

On Friday, Abdelhadi Abdellatif Haroun, the head of the Darfuri Students Association at Omdurman Islamic University and member of the Darfuri Students Association at universities and higher institutes revealed to Radio Dabanga that most of the students whose results have been withheld are from the fourth-level.

He said that the danger of the decision is that it can force students who sit for supplementary exams to resit, delay others from completing their studies or obtaining graduation certificates.

He called upon the state at the top authority represented in the Presidency to resolve the problem by instructing the university to exempt the Darfuri students from tuition fees, in accordance with both the Abuja Agreement and the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur.
