North Kordofani vendor attempts suicide after barrow seized

On Friday, a young street vendor in El Obeid, capital of North Kordofan, attempted to commit suicide in protest against the confiscation of his barrow.
“The public order police confiscated the vendor’s barrow and his merchandise at the El Obeid Grand Market early this morning, and imposed a fine of SDG250 ($41) for the return of his property,” another vendor told Radio Dabanga on Friday.
“He then climbed the market’s administration building, and threatened to jump if his property was returned without a fine,” he said.
“Security officers managed to safely take him down and detain him.”
