Farmers in Dar El Salam locality have requested agricultural machineries, improved seeds, and control of agricultural pests that have appeared in the area, from the North Darfur Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Pastures.

The farmers of Malam El Widyan project at Girweid Basham area have collectively submitted their requests.

The Ministry of Agriculture in North Darfur has confirmed its commitment to provide all the possibilities which would enable the farmers of the project to exercise their agricultural activities in the current season.

The director of the project, engineer Muzamil Musa, said that the project area is 5,000 acres large. He pointed out that the used area is considered small, and that the project has been neglected during the past period. He said it has not received any funding except from local organisations.

Musa demanded from the Ministry provide the farmers with machineries and equipment for the project, so that they can improve their job and appoint workers for the farms and run maintenance activities.
