North Darfur: Dozens killed in intra-militia clashes, woman raped in Tawila

Dozens were killed and wounded in clashes between militia groups in Tawila locality in North Darfur on Tuesday. An 18-year-old woman was gang-raped south of Tabit.

At least 12 militiamen were killed In the area of Kira, west of Tabit in Tawila locality, popularly known as East Jebel Marra. Another 12 wounded men were taken to Tabit for treatment.

Seven other militiamen were shot dead and three others were wounded in a clash among militia groups over the water well of Humeida, south of Tabit.

In the area of Janna, 15 kilometres south of Tabit, three members of a government militia grabbed an 18-year-old woman at gunpoint as she was collecting water from a well.

“They then raped her alternately,” a relative of the victim told Radio Dabanga.
