The Commissioner of Kutum Locality in North Darfur, Adam Awadelkarim Bosh, has resigned from his post, reportedly in protest against the security situation and the state governments inaction to solve it.

Sources reported to Radio Dabanga that Commissioner Bosh resigned as a result of non-provision of assistance that allows him to perform his duties of maintaining security in the locality. Bosh complained that the Ministries of Justice and Interior have not provided judicial and policing organs such as a judge, a prosecutor and police for five years.

He said he has resigned because of difference of points of view with the Governor of North Darfur regarding policy on ruling the locality.

Mohamed Jaber Buram Mohamed has been appointed as his successor.

The Governor of North Darfur has issued an order whereby he dissolved the localities 18 legislative councils.
