North Darfur camps get new water station

In El Fasher, North Darfur, a new water station was officially opened on Monday morning. The new facility is meant to serve the nearby El Salam and Abu Shouk camps for the displaced. It has a capacity of 360,000 cubic metres. The station was constructed at a cost of SDG2 million ($350,000) with the support of an Irish organisation working in the field of water in North Darfur. On Tuesday, the state witnessed the inauguration of a water line in the area of Shajara El Goz, west of El Fasher. The water line, 14km long, reaches El Salam and Abu Shouk camps.
