Representatives from the UNAMID, UN agencies, international nongovernmental organizations and nomadic leaders were reportedly present. While addressing the workshop, the head of the North Darfur Nomads Network, Haussan Abd al-Ziz stated that “support to nomads will contribute to resolving the Darfur problem”. During the meeting, representatives from the UN Development Programme committed to prioritizing the nomadic community’s needs in its administration of the Darfur Community Peace and Stability Fund.
