New restrictions on Sudanese travelling abroad

Sudan’s Interior Ministry has announced new restrictions for Sudanese travelling abroad.
Sudanese between 16 and 50 years need to prove a financial capacity of 1,000 US Dollars in order to obtain a travel permission to several countries, including Egypt, Libya, and the United Arab Emirates.
As for travellers to Syria, Lebanon, Libya, and Turkey, the new regulations require them to appear in person before the authorities who will investigate the reasons for their travel.
From now on, exit permits can only be issued by the heads of the passport departments in Khartoum, Khartoum North, and Omdurman.
Reasons for the new directives have not been given.
