Community leaders in the locality told Radio Dabanga that the Ziyadiya militia attacks on several Berti villages in March have led to mass displacement. The newly displaced are in a dire humanitarian situation, and in need of water, food, health care, and protection.

They called via Radio Dabanga to provide aid to the victims as soon as possible. They also demanded the Sudanese government to compensate the victims, “individually or collectively, so they can take their normal life again”.
