Militias ‘rape displaced in turns near N. Darfur camp

Pro-government militias ambushed a group of six women in Fulu, two kilometers northwest of Kassab camp in Kutum locality, North Darfur, in an attempt to rape them. However, five of them managed to escape and the sixth was reportedly raped in turns by the group of perpetrators. An activist speaking to Radio Dabanga said the victim was not released by the militiamen until late night on Sunday. He noted the suspects were riding horses and camels. The police were informed about the assault and the activist urged UNAMID and authorities to arrest the pro-government militias who raped the displaced and bring them to justice.
