Militiamen plunder homes in Tabit, North Darfur

A large group of militiamen plundered a residential district in Tabit, North Darfur, on Sunday.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, multiple sources reported that a group of about 25 militiamen riding camels attacked the western neighbourhood of Tabit at about 8 pm.
“They plundered 15 houses, taking the people’s money and belongings. They even took the clothes and household utensils,” one of the victims said. “They also stole 250 sheep and goats.”
The sources said that they reported the incident to the commander of the Tabit military garrison. “He told us that he did not have the authority to prosecute the militiamen, and advised us to lodge a complaint with the Commissioner of Tawila locality.”
