Militiamen, LJM troops clash in Kabkabiya, North Darfur

A clash between militiamen and troops of the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) in Kabkabiya town on Saturday, led to the injury of a child. The LJM, headed by Tijani Sese, signed a peace agreement in 2011 with the Government of Sudan.A resident of El Amiriya district in Kabkabiya told Radio Dabanga that on Saturday at about 9pm a “pro-government militia force” attacked the LJM office at El Amiriya in the southern part of Kabkabiya. In the ensuing gunfight, Mohamed Abdel Aziz (3) sustained injuries.The militiamen accuse LJM troops of beating one of them and seizing his gun.The fighting sparked panic among the population of Kabkabiya.
