Militiamen leave trail of murder and robbery across Darfur

Pro-government militiamen shot and killed farmer Musa Adam Omar at Fasa area west of Abta in Central Darfur on Monday morning. A relative of the deceased told Radio Dabanga that two pro-government militiamen attacked Omar while he was sleeping in his farm. He died on the spot. The witness said that they reported the incident to the police of Fasa where the deceased has been buried. South Darfur Residents of a number of villages in El Salam locality, South Darfur, have complained of armed pro-government militia attacks and theft from homes, in the streets, and farms. A villager from Krow Krow village told Radio Dabanga on Monday that over the past two days, the region has seen several incidents of plundering. In the latest occurrences, merchant Adam of Miro village was robbed of a number of sacks of sugar, dates and SDG 500 ($90) in cash. Merchant Abdulla Ahmed Tor lost SDG 1,000 ($180) and a quantity of goods. Farmer Adam Mohammed Abdullah from the village of Sein Daggo was robbed of five sacks of dry okra and a mobile phone. In further incidents, farmer Ishag Wedsomi lost three sacks of nuts, a radio, and a mobile phone in Krow Krow and Abdullah Wedgarout was whipped and lost a number of sacks of okra and dry tomatoes in Loya village.
