Elements of a government-backed militia kidnapped mill worker Abakar Mohammed Ahmed in Kara Kasara village, west of Kutum, on Thursday.
“At 2pm, five militia members wearing uniforms, in a Land Cruiser mounted with a Dushka machinegun stopped in front of the mill. They seized Ahmed, and took him to an unknown destination,” the mill owner told Dabanga. “The reason is entirely unclear to us.”
Kutum locality has been devoid of police and security forces for more than three years.
