Militants accused of torturing Kassab displaced

Armed militants were accused of beating and torturing four displaced men from Kassab camp, near Kutum, in North Darfur, a sheikh told Radio Dabanga. The displaced were reportedly attacked by two gunmen in the Hajar Gussa area, located about 10 kilometers from Kassab on Tuesday, 27 November. According to the sheikh, the victims were attacked as they left the camp to collect firewood. The armed men stole their belongings, including their farm carts, and then locked them up in their homes.The displaced were held captive for eight hours, from 2pm to 10pm, and returned to the camp on Wednesday, the sheikh said. He added that one of the perpetrators was riding a horse and the other a camel.
