Mershing camp residents face repeated attacks

Residents from Mershing camp in South Darfur have complained about the spread of fevers, accompanied by coughing and diarrhea. Besides, the displaced complained about their exposure to attacks by pro-government militias when they leave the camp to collect firewood and hay. A sheikh from the camp told Radio Dabanga that a wave of fever accompanied by headache and coughing has been spreading in the camp over the past few days. He explained that many camp residents are suffering from the spreading disease. The sheikh pointed out the patients’ conditions have barely improved, despite the medicine provided by the health centers and pharmacies. Also, the camp residents complained about their exposure to repeated attacks by pro-government militias when they leave the camp to collect firewood and hay.
