A merchant named Wad Al Bashir was killed in a stick-up at Donki Shatta, a village on the road northwest of El Fasher.  The merchant was traveling in the first of four trucks coming from Kutum to El Fasher. Armed men ambushed the convoy and asked the passengers to hand over all of their money. Wad al-Bashir was trying to plead his case, refusing to hand over his money,  when a gunman shot him dead on the spot. The case has been opened with the El Fasher police for investigation.
