Man killed, 9 missing as mob attack village
A man was shot dead and three others wounded on Wednesday, in a vicious mob attack on a village in Serba. Witnesses claimed 250 gunmen turned up in Korgi, saying they were looking for the owner of a missing horse. Residents had taken the horse in to the village, waiting for the owner to turn up. The gunmen asked where the owner was, villagers said they were unsure and simply minding the horse. The group attacked the villagers, shooting at random and looting homes, a witness said. Adam Abdul Banat was killed in the attack and three people were taken to hospital in El Geneina. A witness told Radio Dabanga that militia are still roaming the outskirts of the village. The incident has been reported to the local commissioner.
