Man abducted in El Fasher, North Darfur

Militiamen kidnapped a banker at gunpoint in El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, on Wednesday. The family of the abducted Salah Sadig Juma told Radio Dabanga that witnesses assured them that the government-backed militia contingent consisted of seven persons, driving a Land Cruiser and wearing military uniforms. “They intercepted the car of Juma and forced him to alight at gunpoint, before they whisked away to an unknown destination.” Juma’s family expressed deep concern and demanded the security authorities to move quickly and reveal the identity of the kidnappers. They have called on the kidnappers to release their hostage unconditionally.
