Ma’aliya, Rizeigat clash in East Darfur

At least five people were killed, and others injured in the area of Khamsat in East Darfur on Wednesday. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a witness said that Rizeigat tribesmen killed a Ma’aliya herder, and injured another herder in the area of Khamsat in Abu Jabra locality on Wednesday. They looted a number of camels. The Ma’aliya arranged a rescue team and followed the attackers. In the ensuing clash, the Ma’aliya killed four Rizeigat herders, and wounded others. The witness added that the situation has become very tense in the region. He called upon the authorities to intervene to contain the situation.
