Locality workers on strike in Sudan’s Abu Zabad

The employees of Abu Zabad locality in West Kordofan laid down their tools on Monday, in protest against the non-payment of their dues.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a leader of the Sudanese Workers’ Union reported that the employees entered into a three-day strike on Monday because they did not receive their September salaries.
He said that they left their offices. “They went to their farms to harvest their crops in order to provide food for their families.”

Employees in Abu Zabad  in West Kordofan laid down their tools on Monday, in protest against the non-payment of their dues.

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a leader of the Sudanese Workers’ Union reported that all civil servants, teachers, and other employees in Abu Zabad locality entered into a three-day strike on Monday because they did not receive their September salaries.

He said that they left their offices. “They went to their farms to harvest their crops in order to provide food for their families.”

On Sunday, the teachers of the basic and secondary stages in the entire West Kordofan state entered into a strike as they did not receive their salary for September. 

Radio Dabanga reported on Friday that teachers in Dongola and El Saleem in Sudan’s Northern State entered into an open-ended strike, in an attempt to secure the payment of their salaries for the past three months. Four days earlier, teachers in El Debba,stopped teaching for the same reasons.
