Leadership of joint Sudan-Chad forces in Darfur handed to Chad

The joint leadership of the Sudanese-Chadian forces, at its eighth session in the Chadian city of Abeche, on Tuesday handed over the chairmanship to Chad, in the presence of leaders of West Darfur state and Weddai province of Chad. Gen. Abbadi El Sayir, the Governor of Chad’s Weddai province stated that the joint Sudanese-Chadian forces have reduced the number of crimes on the border between Darfur and Chad, extended security and stability, and brought about development in many border villages. The Governor of West Darfur state, Haidar Ateem, announced the state government’s intention to expand the cooperation with Weddai province concerning the implementation of the agreements concluded between Chad and Sudan.
