The Armenkol Basic School in Sirba locality, West Darfur, has been closed because of the absence of teachers.

Speaking to Dabanga, a parent reported that the 820 pupils of the school have been deprived of lessons for the last two months.

“At the beginning of the school year, three teachers were still working at the school. Yet they soon left to El Geneina, the capital of West Darfur.”

He urged the West Darfur state authorities to provide teachers, “to secure the future of the children in Armenkol”.
