Joint rebel forces attack two military garrisons in North Darfur
Joint rebel forces killed 83 army and militia troops in attacks on the military garrisons of Alliet Jarelnabi and Haskanita, North Darfur, on Sunday morning.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, the spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Movement under the command of Mini Minnawi (SLM-MM), Adam Saleh Abakar, reported that joint forces of the SLM-MM, the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW), and the Liberation Movement for Justice, presided by Taher Hajar (LMJ-TH) attacked the garrisons of Alliet Jarelnabi and Haskanita simultaneously, at 8am on Sunday.
“The resistance forces killed 49 army troops and militiamen in the attack on Alliet Jarelnabi, and wounded dozens of others,” Abakar said. “We seized 19 vehicles mounted with Dushka machineguns, an Ural wagon, and large quantities of weapons, ammunition, food supplies and medicines.”
“In the attack on Haskanita garrison, 34 government and militia troops were killed and dozens of others wounded. We seized 15 vehicles mounted with Dushka machineguns, nine Renault lorries, a Ural lorry, and a petrol tanker, as well as large quantities of weapons, ammunition, food and medicine supplies. Seven army vehicles were destroyed.”
