The Reform and Liberation Movement, a faction that originated on Jebel Moon, announced they are still committed to the peace agreement signed with the government at El Geneina on 17 November this year, despite divisions that occurred within their ranks.Yasser Al Tayyib Suleiman said that a few dozen civilians and combatants in the movement have defected from their ranks because of disagreements with the government’s security and intelligence agencies. But he stressed that his movement will try to implement the agreement with the government despite problems.

The RLM is a combination of two small splinter groups, one from SLA-Abdel Wahid and one from JEM-Khalil Ibrahim. The groups splintered from the larger rebel groups around the time the government took Jebel Moon by force in May 2010.
