The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) worker Gauthier Lefévre is being freed by his kidnappers. At this moment he is on his way to Khartoum. He was kidnapped near Al Geneina on 22 October 2009 and held for almost half a year in captivity.

In January the other ICRC worker, Laurent Maurice was freed by his kidnappers after 89 days in captivity.
