Hundreds of families in Gireida, affected by the tribal clashes that erupted between Fellata and Masalit early this month, are in dire need of food and shelter.

The victims are living in the open since their homes in Gireida’s El Shati and El Rahman districts, as well as the neighbouring Saadoun administrative unit and El Dikka village were attacked and torched by warring tribesmen.

Residents from the area told Dabanga that they have not received any aid from the state government or humanitarian organisations, and called for “urgent assistance”.
