High rates of infection with conjunctivitis in South Darfur

The Ministry of Health in the state of South Darfur said that the spread of a virus of the eye, conjunctivitis, is due to the lack of health education. The ministry referred to reports from South Darfur of the high incidence of the disease, reaching 679 cases.

The ministry said the first case was reported in Adela Locality where 96 cases are now recorded. A citizen told Radio Dabanga from Bahr Al Arab Locality that the disease spread widely and until now treatment has not been available locally.
