Herders murder South Darfur Sheikh

Armed herders have shot and killed a South Darfur Sheikh as he tried to protect his farm from their livestock on Wednesday.

Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that Sheik Haroun Jaqoob was tending his farm in the Nbakaah area of Gireida locality, South Darfur on Wednesday afternoon.

Three armed herdsmen drove their cattle and camels onto the farm, and when Sheikh Jaqoob attempted to drive them off, the herders shot him dead.
