Gunmen steal payroll in West Darfur

Militiamen have reportedly seized money destined to pay the staff salaries of a company working on the Zalingei-Arokom road in Central Darfur on Thursday. One of the road workers told Radio Dabanga that four gunmen opened fire on three vehicles transporting money while they were on their way to the company’s headquarters in Wadi Aribo, south of Zalingei, the capital of Central Darfur. The gunmen forced the cars to stop and seized about SDG184,000 ($41,200) intended for the salaries of the 200 employees and workers of the company. The incident has been reported to the police.
