Gunmen kill two policemen in ambush

Two policemen were killed and six others injured when their car was ambushed by gunmen, around three km from Habila in West Darfur on Tuesday. Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that the police were on their way from Habila to El Geneina to pick up their salaries when they suddenly came under attack near the station, by members of an unknown militia. The gunmen fired rounds of shots at the police killing one of them immediately. The other died later in hospital. Witnesses said the gunmen managed to steal one car and fled to an unknown place.A man was shot dead in Kereinek in West Darfur as he was headed to his farm on Wednesday morning. Witnesses told Radio Dabanga that Abdullah Muhammed was on his way to his farm traveling on a horse when he was confronted by gunment asking him to hand over his horse. When he refused the men shot him, killing him instantly on the spot. The witnesses said the gunmen stole the horse and fled.Elsewhere in West Darfur, a man was injured when a group of men shot at his car after accusing him of being loyal to the Sudanese government. Witnesses said the man’s car was attacked after he returned from a market in Bindisi by an unknown group. The passenger was injured but the driver managed to escape without injury.. The witnesses said the police tried to catch the men couldn’t.

The passenger was injured but the driver managed to escape without injury..

The witnesses said the police tried to catch the men couldn’t.
