An extensive fire at Dora village, seven kilometres south of Kass in South Darfur, has reduced many homes to ashes, and destroyed swathes of agricultural crops.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that the fire broke out at 12 pm in one of the grain mills, and then spread to the neighbouring houses. “It destroyed the full contents of more than 150 houses, along with large amounts of agricultural crops.”

He said that about 50 families were affected by the fire, and appealed to the authorities and organisations to provide assistance to them.
