Government blocks delegation of displaced from travel to Doha

The Darfuri rebel Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) condemned the move by authorities to prevent leaders of Kalma Displaced Camp from traveling to Doha to attend the negotiating sessions. Out of six committees formed by LJM and government negotiators at Doha, the committee on rights and compensation of the displaced was scheduled to begin its session on Tuesday. The authorities banned Mohammed Musa Ali, Mohammed Hassan Bashir and Seif Al Din Adam Bashir from leaving on a Saturday flight from Nyala to Khartoum on their way to Doha. The secretary general of LJM, Bahar Idriss Abu Garda, told Radio Dabanga that they would stop negotiating with the government unless detained delegates are released and allowed to travel to Doha. He said that they advised the mediation team of this development.
