Hundreds of Sudanese are reportedly stranded in the UAE with no accommodation following alleged fraud by a travel agency.

Callers explained to Radio Dabanga that the victims travelled to Al Ain in UAE for work. Their travel arrangements and accommodation were handled by a travel and tourism agency, but it is alleged that the agency owner has disappeared and left them without accommodation.

Members of the Sudanese community in the UAE have taken-in some of the people, however there are reportedly too many for the community to handle.

They have appealed to the Sudanese Embassy in the UAE to intervene so that they can return to Sudan as soon as possible.
