Five die in continued air raids on Darfur’s East Jebel Marra

The Sudanese Air Force continued its bombardments on villages in East Jebel Marra for the second consecutive day, killing a father and his four children, as well as dozens of livestock. Again large tracts of farmland and pasture burned to ashes. “This morning, between 7 and 8 am, a Sukhoi jet dropped 27 bombs on the area of Bir Sauda, west of Dolma, and the area of Khor Mali, a resident of Khor Mali told Radio Dabanga. “At least 75 heads of livestock were killed, and more than 20 feddan of farmland with sorghum, millet, sesame, and broad beans were torched. “The fighter jet resumed its raids at 5.30 pm on the areas west of Dolma and west of Sabi. “One of the bombs hit a nomadic settlement west of Dolma, killing Ramadan Hamdan Ramadan, and four of his sons, aged 12, 9, 7, and 5.” The source said that the people in the region sought refuge in the nearby valleys and mountains. He appealed to the UN and the international community to intervene, pressure Khartoum security to stop the aerial bombardments, and protection the Darfuris.
