Inferno destroys 45 houses in Abu Suruj camp, West Darfur

45 houses were destroyed by fire in Abu Suruj camp for the displaced in Sirba locality, West Darfur, on Thursday evening.
Speaking to Dabanga, the coordinator of Sirba camps reported that “a huge fire that broke out at 6.30pm, destroyed the full contents of 45 houses, and displaced hundreds of people.

Speaking to Dabanga, the coordinator of Sirba camps reported that “a huge fire that broke out at 6.30pm, destroyed the full contents of 45 houses, and displaced hundreds of people.

“They are currently living in the open, without shelter, food, or cover,” he said, appealing to the West Darfur state authorities and humanitarian organisations to provide aid to the victims.
