Fire causes large destruction in Derso, South Darfur

A massive fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon in a South Darfur village destroyed 50 homes, along with large amounts of crops and livestock, sources say. A resident of Derso village in Kass locality told Radio Dabanga that tens of families have been affected by the flames and are now lacking food, shelter or cover. Besides destroying 50 houses, the fire also burned down beans and grains’ crops and it killed 10 sheep and seven donkeys. A massive fire that broke out on Thursday afternoon in a South Darfur village destroyed 50 homes, along with large amounts of crops and livestock, sources say.

A resident of Derso village in Kass locality told Radio Dabanga that tens of families have been affected by the flames and are now lacking food, shelter or cover.
