Farmlands spoiled, displaced injured in Darfur

In South Darfur, herders forcibly entered their livestock on farmlands in Mershing locality on Sunday. Militiamen on Monday raided three homes in the Mawashi camp for the displaced in Kabkabiya locality, North Darfur. Three displaced sustained serious injuries. A farmer from Mershing locality told Radio Dabanga that a large group of militant herders on Sunday released their cattle on their farmlands by force of arms. “Vast tracts of farmlands have been damaged.” He complained that the herders in the area assault the farmers continuously, without any reason. “They attack us before we even utter a word.” He appealed to the local authorities to intervene and protect the farmers and their lands.  Mawashi camp “Five government-backed militiamen raided the shelters of Musa Adam Ramadan, Aisha Adam, and Badr Mohamed Taher in Kabkabiya’s Mawashi camp on Monday.
