Farmer killed, four injured in South Darfur robbery

A displaced farmer was killed and four others injured when a group of militiamen assaulted and robbed them on Tuesday.

A displaced farmer was killed and four others injured when a group of militiamen assaulted and robbed them on Tuesday.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that a group of displaced people were tending their farmlands in Umbalula southwest of Gereida in South Darfur.

They were accosted by armed militiamen riding horses, who opened fire on them. Hawa Abdullah Hammad died on the spot. Her husband Omda Ali Ahmed, her sister Khadija Abdullah Hammad, Halloum Mohammed Abdullah, and Osman Kleesh were all wounded.

The attacking militiamen made-off with all of their money, possessions and donkeys.
