Examination centre in Sirba, West Darfur, short of water, food

Displaced students sitting for the basic school examinations in West Darfur’s Sirba locality complain of a lack of food and water.
“The 450 students of the Kendebe, Tenjeli, Bir Dageeg, Sirba, and Gaga camps have not had any meals since their arrival at the Sirba locality’s examination centre on Friday morning,” the coordinator of Sirba camps told Radio Dabanga.
He said that the students also suffer a lack of drinking water, and called on the locality’s authorities to shoulder their responsibilities towards the students.
The Minister of Education in West Darfur, Firdoos Saleh Hussein, announced earlier this week that 11.893 registered basic school students, 6,424 boys and 5,419 girls, would to be distributed over 75 examination centres in the state.
