Ex-commissioner shot in West Darfur

Militiamen opened fire on the former Sirba locality commissioner at El Geneina in West Darfur on Sunday. Unidentified gunmen fired three bullets at former commissioner Hussein Daoud Idriss inside his farm in the morning, Troshain Abdalla Troshain told Radio Dabanga. Idriss was transferred to El Geneina hospital and then to Khartoum for medical treatment. The coordinator of the Sirba camps for the displaced people explained that three unknown gunmen, riding on motorcycles, stormed the farm of Idriss. “They threatened him and accused him of killing 280 people when he was commissioner of Sirba.” The coordinator added that the gunmen confronted Idriss, who pointed his gun to their faces. “However, they used their weapons faster and shot him.
