EU to help Sudanese parties ‘attain peace’

The head of delegation of the European Union to Sudan said one of the main goals of the EU in the country is to help all parties to “attain peace”. These comments come after the EU won the 2012 Nobel Peace prize. The head of delegation, Ambassador Tomas Ulincy, also expressed the EU’s support to the peace deal signed between Sudan and South Sudan in Ethiopia last September. He said the EU will help both countries “to benefit from the dividends of peace”. Speaking at the Khartoum airport upon his arrival from Vienna, where he addressed the Euro – Sudanese Investment Forum, Ulincy said the European Union is an inspiration and model for leaders and citizens across the world. The ambassador also explained that a visit to North Darfur will be conducted this week by the Ambassadors of the European Union.
