EU envoys to visit eastern Sudan

A delegation composed of the diplomatic missions of the EU, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and the UK will visit Kassala and Ed Damazin in east and southeast Sudan on 21 and 22 October.
In a press release today, the Delegation of the European Union to Sudan, says that “The purpose of this visit is to understand better the humanitarian and development situation in the two states, which share borders with Ethiopia, South Sudan and Eritrea.
“On the agenda are issues of peace, development and humanitarian cooperation, the Sudanese national dialogue process, as well as migration and human trafficking. The European diplomats will hold discussions with the local authorities, tribal and religious leaders.
“Projects funded by the European Union will be visited as well”.
