‘Ethiopian rebels fighting in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains’: newspaper

Ethiopian opposition forces are reportedly fighting alongside Sudanese army troops in South Kordofan. Multiple sources revealed that Ethiopian rebels participated in attacks against the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North forces in the Nuba Mountains, South Kordofan. The Ethiopians were trained and organised at the Sudanese military camps in the states of El Gedaref and El Gezira. The eyewitnesses who spoke to the Sudanese Altaghyeer (an independent electronic newspaper) said that about 4,000 Muslim Oromo fighters from Ethiopia were involved in military operations in the eastern part of the Nuba Mountains, since the government had launched its “decisive dry season summer offensive” in November last year.
