Thousands of students from El Fasher University gathered in front of the administration of the faculty of medicine yesterday, demanding the postponement of the examinations, which are set for this coming Sunday. A member in the social associations committee in the university told Radio Dabanga that the reason for their strike is that thirty per cent of the university students had not arrive yet to El Fasher due to the uncertain security situation along the Nyala – El Fasher road.

The students threatened to go on strike if the administration does not respond to their demand. In total, 22 student associations, in addition to political parties, presented two memos to the administration, demanding the postponement of the examinations. They also demanded setting a date for the elections of the Students’ Union of the university.

Also, they demanded the formation of a committee to investigate the assassination of their colleague Jamal Adam Mustafa, inside the university premises on March 18th.
