El Burhan to visit North Darfur capital today

The head of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, Gen Abdelfattah El Burhan, will visit El Fasher, capital of North Darfur today, to preside over the meeting of the Joint Higher Council for Security Arrangements, which will be held in the city.

The head of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council, Gen Abdelfattah El Burhan, will visit El Fasher, capital of North Darfur today, to preside over the meeting of the Joint Higher Council for Security Arrangements, which will be held in the city.

The Governor of North Darfur, Gen Nimr Abdelrahman, announced the arrival of the head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen El Burhan, and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday.

The delegation includes the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Mohamed ‘Hemeti’ Dagalo, and representatives of the Darfur track from the leaders of the parties to the peace process in the region.

Governor Abdelrahman said in statements that the meeting will discuss the position of implementing the security arrangements clause for the Darfur track in accordance with the Juba Peace Agreement, in addition to standing on the developments in the security situation in Darfur and the recent events, adding that the meeting will also discuss the progress of forming a joint force with special tasks to achieve Peace and security in Darfur.
