Eight civilians killed in Nuba Mountains bomb blast: source

A source from within Kauda, South Kordofan, told Radio Dabanga’s weekly ‘Tamazuj’ program that the government’s airstrikes on Nuba Mountains were still ongoing. An eyewitness stated that the area of Karji which lies near Jebel Moro was bombarded on Sunday when the people of the area were in the market. The sources said that the airstrike led to the killing of eight civilians and the wounding of dozens.

The sources said that the airstrike led to the killing of eight civilians and the wounding of dozens.The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, for its part, continued to accuse the northern government of bombing unarmed civilians and continuing what Ahmed Haroun started in Darfur of ethnic cleansing of the people of Nuba Mountains as was happening in Darfur. The spokesperson of the army, Khaled Al Sawarmi Saad, could not be reached for comment.
