Dozens killed as Sudan’s rebels occupy key points in South Kordofan

Scores of dead and wounded have been reported in an attack on Thursday morning by the Sudanese Revolutionary Front on Kologi and Tozi in Gadir locality and El Rahmania in Abu Jubaiha locality in South Kordofan.
Fleeing witnesses told Radio Dabanga that rebel forces in about 45 vehicles descended from the eastern Nuba Mountains at 7 am on Wednesday. At least 24 troops and government militiamen died in the attack, and many more were reported injured.

The rebel forces apparently seized control of the headquarters of the security services, police, army, the UPDF, and Abu Tira, as well as those of government institutions. The occupation lasted for about two and a half hours. The rebels then left the area.
