Doctors in a hospital in the North Darfur capital of El Fasher have been on strike since 28 July, in protest against monies due to the hospital employees, and the deterioration of medical services.

Specialists and interns at the main hospital in the capital released a statement, saying their strike is necessitated by the deterioration of medical services for patients and the substantial financial dues owed to the doctors. The employees also complain about a poor work environment.

Despite a dialogue about the demand package with the hospital’s management and the State Health Ministry, no results have been reached because of the “administration’s obstinacy”.
