Displaced woman raped in Rwanda camp, North Darfur

A hearing-impaired woman of Rwanda camp for the displaced in North Darfur was raped in her house on Saturday evening. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a sheikh of Rwanda camp in Tawila locality said that “a member of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM), Historic Leadership faction,” raped a deaf woman (25) inside her house in the camp. The offender, called Abdel Ghani Mohamed Abdel Razig, was captured by camp residents, and handed to the police of Tawila town. The Historic Leadership faction, led by Osman Ibrahim Musa, is a split-off from Abdel Wahid El Nur’s Sudan Liberation Movement. The faction signed a peace agreement with the South Darfur government in 2011.
